For those of you who have followed from the beginning, you know that
every year we like to throw a “birthday party” for Boudoir by Billie
growing another year older. But this year just so happened to be an
extra-special event: a LADIES NIGHT in our BRAND NEW BOUDOIR STUDIO,
located in downtown Ashland, MO. In the months leading up to the
celebration, we put a lot of thought, time & energy into the entire
design and space, and wanted to share it to commemorate our GRAND
OPENING with all of you lovely ladies as a way of appreciating you for
your love, support & beauty!

At 6:15, a line of early birds stretched outside the door and onto
the sidewalk, each gorgeous gal eager be one of the first to snatch up a
grab bag filled with amazing items donated and purchased by local
women/businesses. The bags were a fun way to say THANKS and remind you
all how important each and every one of you has been on our journey. And
a 1-hour full body massage by Evexia Massage was just ONE of the amazing prizes
available to win as a door prize just for attending! We wanted each and every woman to feel pampered on this important evening! When 7’oclock rolled around, it was finally time to open the doors! Girls poured in, the first 12 grabbed their prize bags and each and every woman was able to grab a bag of tickets to enter into the door prizes. We munched on lingerie cookies (huge thanks to Dream Cakes by Michaela for making them for me!) drank wine and champagne while mingling & celebrating the evening away until the grand prizes were finally drawn at 8:05!

Throughout the evening, over 50 women came out to help us celebrate,
and we couldn’t have been any more excited and thankful for all who did!
YOU amazing ladies are one of the biggest reasons we’re here to
celebrate! It was an honor and so much fun to meet and chat with you
all: WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN is extremely important and we’re so happy
you chose to spend your evening with us!

A special THANK YOU to Kayla & Stephanie, who braved the big
crowd to speak about their personal stories from the Boudoir by Billie
Experience.

Kayla spoke about how excited she was to give her photos as a
wedding gift to her husband-to-be, and Stephanie raved about her
experience, saying “It started out I was wearing a mesh bra and panties with stilettos, and I am wondering what AM I DOING?!! But by the end of the session, I was so DAMN CONFIDENT! And this is just from ONE HOUR of a boudoir session, with Billie, which showed me a woman I couldn’t see myself - but am able to now!” With tears in her eyes and a new found fire in her heart, she went on to say “If you are on the edge of a session.. JUST DO IT! I promise you.. It’s more than worth it.” Both women’s stories
illustrated how anybody, from any walk of life, deserves to feel beauty
in their own skin, the ultimate driving goal behind our Boudoir Experience in the studio and message in general!

Hey there, Gorgeous!

First of all, I just want to say THANK YOU to whoever is reading this. Seriously. Words can’t describe how much my lil-ol-heart has enjoyed and cherished having you on this journey with me. I’ve grown immensely as a woman since having the pleasure of working with all of you! Being a Boudoir Photographer for me is more than JUST being a photographer and making money. It’s more than just a JOB for me to pay my bills. It’s about reaching as many women as I can and sharing as much of my love and body positivity as possible. It’s about creating and being a part of a community where women of all shapes, sizes and ages can come together for support, love and sometimes even a good laugh in the VIP group! Without YOU - Boudoir by Billie couldn’t be where it is in this moment in time. YOU HELPED ME GET HERE and I am forever thankful and grateful for all of the continued love and support thrown my way these last few years. Now that the sappy stuff is out of the way…

So back on track - we’re here to talk about Boudoir by Billie STUDIO SPACES! Since I was 17 years old, I have had a huge goal and dream to open up my own studio… but when I was finally ready to open up shop, all I had was a big upstairs in my current home. I was extremely determined and ready to share my body positivity and love all the while photographing women and making them feel like queens! So guess what? I made the best out of what I had in my hand at the time… Which wasn’t much! Here’s our very first studio! Boudoir by Billie officially opened its doors in 2015 in the upstairs of my home in Columbia, MO.

Although my in-home studio was a great step in the direction I wanted to go, I still had bigger dreams and goals to achieve for myself, my business and my clients (you all!) It has always been important to me to provide the best experience possible, and a bigger studio was a necessity. Fast forward to 2018 and every single day I am daydreaming of big city studios that seem so out of reach due to my area and budget range. Despite my own doubts about being able to afford / find a new studio that would be perfect, I didn’t give up on my dreams & one day I stumbled
across a space online that I could honestly imagine having my studio in. I
pick up the phone to call immediately to set up a viewing appointment to see if it is all it’s cracked up to be from the photos I saw on the listing.

I pull up and I’m already in love from the brick outside & it’s snuggled nicely between a few other local business in quaint Ashland, MO. I walk in & the entire front room is wrapped in extremely beautiful natural light. I can’t help but notice that it’s got immense character. There’s modern industrial chic vibes I have been dying to have in my life and photographs with the
genuine brick walls and concrete flooring… She definitely needed some
work, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn’t help!

Alas - I signed the lease the next morning & my heart was as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning! Then the work began!

Besides the obvious… there was a lot of paperwork, financial planning, budgeting, stressful late nights, barefoot dance parties while cleaning and painting & (lots of) wine drank through this process but I wouldn’t have traded it for anything! Big shout out to Paige, one of my best friends, for helping me paint. She started out as one of my clients in the old studio and grew to be one of my closest friends and even HELP ME with the new space! Big thanks to my amazing sister, Aubrey, dad & step mom for helping move, paint, and decorate! You all are so important to me and I’m grateful you helped me on this new journey as a business front studio owner!

Each
and every day I honestly am still in awe and can’t believe I get to
call this space MINE. Walking into my studio / office, I take a deep
breath & am reminded that I need and deserve to keep pushing forward
& bettering myself in all the ways possible. My mind is always
working in “studio mode,” imagining all of the things I could do to
better your Boudoir Experience. I change little things here and
there on the daily as it will forever be a work in progress cause that’s
just life - right? But I am absolutely in love with the direction we’re
moving and I hope you are too!

LADIES - Let’s be real here… I
HAD SOME DOUBTS BUT I WENT FOR IT ANYWAYS and I am so damn glad that I
did! And guess what? I would say that’s pretty relatable to you &
jumping head first into your own Boudoir by Billie Experience. I would
be absolutely honored for to photograph you here! Taking the first step

here every step of the way with detailed explanations and I will

Tell us about yourself!
My name is Sunny. I am a 31 year old single mom of two beautiful girls ages 4 & 6.

Why did you choose to do a session?

I chose to do a boudoir session because I had just gotten out of a horrible relationship with a man that constantly criticized my body making me very self conscious, even after losing over 60lbs. I needed something to boost my confidence not only for myself but also to show my girls they had a confident beautiful mother.

What were your thoughts before booking the Boudoir by Billie Experience?

I was terrified up until the photo session was about 10 min in. I had for so long covered my body being criticized and embarrassed of my stretch marks and loose skin. Billie made me feel amazing, confident, and gorgeous.

How did you feel when you saw your photographs for the very first time?

When I saw my photos I held back tears the entire time. I have never in my life thought of myself beautiful, much less sexy and looking at these photos I finally saw what others had been telling me for so long.

What was your favorite part about the whole experience?

By far my favorite part was how I felt afterward. I felt fierce, sexy, and finally… confident. Yes I am 31, yes I have two kids, yes I have stretch marks and loose skin but dammit, I am sexy!

What do you say to anyone thinking about booking a session?

If you’re still not sure, stop hesitating and book a session NOW! It’s beyond worth it and I can’t wait to do another. You will most definitely not regret this decision.

Did a boudoir session with Billie change the way you see yourself?

Having a session with Billie has completely changed how I view myself. My photos are proudly hung in my bathroom as a constant reminder that I am beautiful and sexy.
