Q: How did you feel BEFORE your session V.S. how you felt DURING / AFTER the Experience?
A: I was scared and doubting myself before hand but from the very beginning of the experience, the Boudoir by Billie team was so supportive and reassuring. I forgot about my nerves and relaxed into it. I laughed and enjoyed myself, as if I wasn’t almost naked getting photographed by a stranger. And by the time my session was over and I left, I felt like a bad ass bitch ready to take on the world!

Q: How did you feel when you saw your photographs for the very first time?
A: I felt shocked. Shocked that it was me I was looking at. I’ve done two shoots and both times my emotions were negative at the start and positive at the end but that thought was still there like “what if I hate these photos and this was all for nothing” and then the reveal happens and I’m reminded that I am beautiful. I’m plus sized and I have stretch marks and cellulite and a big belly but I am sexy and perfect the way I am. I’m reminded, when looking at these photos, that my brain plays tricks and is mean to me and I really don’t look like I just crawled out from under a bridge. The reveal is everything and always makes me feel amazing!

Q: What was your favorite part about the whole EXPERIENCE?
A: My favorite part is the feelings that doing these shoots leave you with. I feel love for Billie because she’s so supportive and encouraging. And I feel an overwhelming sense of confidence after it’s all said and done. I feel empowered and sexy and those are great feelings to carry around with me.

Q: Did a boudoir session with Billie change the way you see yourself?
A: Yes. My sessions helped me see myself for how I really look rather than how my brain and body dysmorphia wanna make me think I look. It helped the logical part of my brain take a step back and see the beauty of this body.

Q: What do you say to anyone thinking about booking a session?
A: I know it’s scary and I know you’ll be hesitant but just take the plunge and go for it. Its gonna be crazy the whole ride through but once you’re done, you’re gonna feel a love for yourself that is so pure and deserved. Everyone should do it.
